Thus, today, we want to share with you how to make your personal perfume. This can help you save from buying those expensive perfume brands! You can even own DIY homemade scent with different notes of P&J Trading fragrance oils. Therefore, you no longer have to spend what feels like forever at the store smelling different perfumes, trying to find the perfect one!
PERFUME TIPS
When using P&J Trading fragrance oils, each of our fragrances have three types of notes. These notes are referred to as top, middle, and base notes. The top notes are what you smell first when opening a bottle of P&J Trading fragrance. Next, are the middle notes which are considered the core of our fragrance. Lastly, are the base notes which help the middle notes last longer. This is important to understand because you do not need to mix our oils to make your perfume if you do not wish to do so. Simply choose your favorite P&J Trading oils and follow the simple steps below!

After shaking the bottle, use your coffee filter to transfer the liquid to the other bottle.

What kind of Alcohol can you use. Which kind are you talking about is it Perfumer’s, rubbing or vodka
Hi Misty!
Alcohol-based perfumes employ ethanol. High-proof, food-grade ethanol is the easiest alcohol to buy! Vodka or Everclear (a pure 190-proof alcoholic beverage) are often used in perfume making because both are clear. You should not use denatured alcohol or rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol) when making perfume and never use methanol as it's toxic. If you are looking for a different ingredient instead of alcohol, you can use a carrier oil like jojoba oil.
Please let us know if you need more clarification! Thank you.
Hi, can i use jojoba oil mixed with fragrance oil only?
Hi, Clara!
You can use any carrier oil like Jojoba when mixing with fragrance oils. Please let us know if you need more clarification!
Hi, when can I mix the filtered water? can you make a video tutorial too? Thank you!
Hi, Cici!
You can mix the filtered water after you find your preferred scent and let the bottle sit for at least 48 hours. We are posting a video tutorial soon on how to make roll-on perfume and it's a faster process too! Stay tuned :)
Thank you for your great question!
Hello! So I made some of this about a week ago, and I added water and filtered today. It still has quite a bit of an alcohol scent, even though my fragrance does come through. Does this go away over time? Is there a way of distilling the alcohol off? Or is this just the nature of this process?
Hi, Taralyn!
The perfume making process requires practice and can be tedious at times when experimenting with what works for you!
You might want to look into experimenting with a better alcohol base, less water, and more fragrance depending on what scent you are working with. You can also make a roll-on perfume that does not use alcohol at all, it is simply the combination of jojoba oil and fragrance oil. The roll-on perfume process is faster and only takes about 24 hours to settle. For your convenience, we pasted the roll-on perfume recipe below:

Hi, is there anything that you could suggest to help prolong the life of the fragrance? I made some but it doesnt seem to last very long. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
Hi, Franki!
This can be dependent on the type of fragrance oil you are working with and its strength with the alcohol base in perfume. One tip we like to share is to make sure you are storing your fragrances/perfumes in a darker and cooler area. And as always, you can add more fragrance to your perfume blend as well!
What is the essence of jojoba oil in perfume production?
Hi, Eka!
Jojoba oil is the preferred carrier oil for developing homemade perfumes. This is due to its moisturizing properties for the skin and it also absorbs quickly without leaving any greasy effect. This carrier oil is also odorless and colorless which does not interfere with the scent of the perfume like other carrier oils would.
If I choose to remove the alcohol altogether, will this recipe stay the same minus the alcohol? I plan to use on lava bead bracelets. I’m wondering if this will work the same. Thanks!
Hi, Jacquelyn!
Yes, you can remove the alcohol from the perfume recipe. For an even easier process, you can also simply combine Jojoba oil (or another carrier oil) and P&J Fragrance together. Then simply apply to your lave bead bracelets!
