Fragrance Oil Information

What Are Fragrance Oils?

A Fragrance oil is a manufactured product designed to mimic an item’s aromatic properties. You will likely be surprised just how much like the real thing a fragrance oil smells.

Fragrance oils are a way to add comfort, and extra sensory experience to your home, laundry, soaps, perfumes or stationery. Although fragrance oils have been around for hundreds of years, many people have not heard about them until today.

When you first hear about fragrance oils, it can be confusing to understand the difference between the grades, and how they are used. Rest assured you are not alone, a lot of first-time fragrance oil users have the same questions.

Occasionally, you may hear them called by a different name, such as aroma oils or aromatic oils. These are the same product as fragrance oils. Even though fragrance oils are known as a synthetic product, they do include natural ingredients.

Many people have concerns about the fact that synthetic ingredients are used, however, they are completely safe to be used in the home, in laundry and even on the surface of the skin.

P&J Premium Grade Fragrance oils are highly concentrated, enhanced formulations designed by master perfumers with more than 30 years in the industry. Their IFRA certifications ensure that our fragrance oils meet the Premium Grade standards and are the best quality oils available on the market.

What is a Premium Grade Fragrance Oil?

Per International Fragrance Association (IFRA) guidelines, there are three grades of fragrance oils produced for today’s fragrance market – Burning Grade, Manufacturers Grade, and Premium Grade.

Burning Grade fragrance oil is the lowest quality and should only be used in candle formulations or diffusion.

Manufacturers Grade fragrance oil can be used when heavily diluted, such as in laundry detergent and cleaning supplies.

Premium Grade fragrance oil has been thoroughly tested and meets all qualifications for the IFRA’s standards for use in all skin and body care applications as well as direct topical use.

All P&J Trading Fragrance Oils are classified as Premium Grade, and therefore completely safe to use in all applications for which fragrance oils are suited.

Are synthetic Fragrance Oils safe to use?

You can be comfortable in the knowledge that our fragrances comply with both the International Fragrance Association (IFRA) and FDA safety and purity standards. Our fragrances are completely safe to use on skin, in clothing and bedding, as well as in candles and soaps that contact the skin.

(Please note that synthetic oils should not be eaten or ingested.)
