Hi, I just purchased one of your fragrance sets to use for candle making. If I melt down one pound of soy wax, how much oil should I use for strong scented candles. I purchased the 6 package of 10ml bottles. I really like the scents so far and looking forward to my new candles.
Thanks,
Chuck
Hi, Chuck!
Thank you so much for your purchase and great question! Our general recommendation is ½ to 1 full ounce (approximately 300 to 600 drops) of fragrance per pound of soy wax which, equates to 1-2 Tablespoons. This recommendation is highly dependent on the above mentioned criteria but, we find that all our oils will fall somewhere within this suggestion. Please note that spiced aromas like Cinnamon and Harvest Spice require less oil usage (15ml per pound of soy wax); whereas aromas like Cupcake, or French Vanilla may require the full ounce.
For smaller batch or test batches, you'll want to use a 1-2% ratio of fragrance to base materials again, dependent on the fragrance oil and preference.
