How to Create Winter-Inspired Scented Candles

Sometimes, the best feeling is cuddling up with a fuzzy blanket and lighting your favorite scented candles. To prepare for a cozy snow day, try making our DIY Winter Candle.

This craft can help you relax on a winter day and create lasting memories with your loved ones. You can use your new winter candle as a decoration in your home. Maybe even a gift for a friend! This candle can be created in any type of mug. Though, we love the enamel campfire style for crafters. After you make your personalized candle, sit back, unwind and ignite your favorite scent whether it’s peppermint or winter mint!

Supplies You Will Need

  • Enamel Campfire Mug *or mug of choice
  • Wick Tab
  • Centering Tool
  • Double-boiler
  • Thermometer
  • Natural Soy Wax
  • Winter Scented Fragrance Oil


  • Fill intended candle container with water.
  • Pour water into measuring cup.
  • Attach wick tab to your container or mug.
  • Place wick on tab and prop with a centering tool.
  • Place the correct quantity of soy wax into you double-boiler.
  • Stir until completely melted.
  • Check temperature until it is 185 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Add 30 ml of P&J Winter Mint. *or other winter fragrance
  • Check temperature until it is 155 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Pour into container.
  • Cut wick 1 inch from the top.
  • Let sit for about 5 hours.
  • Grab a blanket, light, and enjoy!
