As winter is quickly approaching us, so is the dry crisp air that bites to the bone. Whether that is the snowfall in your backyard or the wind whistling in your ears, winter is always cold. With a cold winter, we know comes dry skin. The winter also brings along the lovely flu season, which means constant hand washing which only dries out your hands more! Thus, we wanted to share with you a simple salt scrub recipe to keep your hands from peeling and hurting any longer.

You might be asking yourself, “how is an exfoliating salt going to help my dry and flakey skin?”. This winter salt scrub allows the dead skin cells to fall off and, thus, restores moisture to your hands. Plus, the coconut oil in this homemade scrub replenishes the moisture on your hands! If you don’t need to scrub your own hands, this will make for a great holiday gift! Simply follow along with the DIY recipe below to create your own exfoliating salt scrub.

  1. Pour 1 cup of salt into the empty glass container.
  2. Pour 1/2 cup of liquid coconut oil over the salt.
  3. Add 10-15 drops of your favorite P&J Fragrance Oil. *check out our winter collection!
  4. Stir all ingredients until well combined.
  5. Seal the jar, store in a dry area, and your scrub is ready to go!
