Premium Fragrance Oil Recipes

Perfume Oil

  • 1/3 oz Fractionated coconut oil
  • 10 drops fragrance oil (or fragrance oil blend)
  • Glass roll on vial or other suitable application container

Mix coconut oil and fragrance oil together in glass vial/container.  Shake contents well and allow to sit overnight prior to use.  Dab perfumed oil on as needed.

2) Massage/Body Oil

-4oz Good Massage oil Base (or carrier oil of your choosing: Olive, Apricot, Hemp Seed, Sweet Almond, etc.)

-15-20 Drops fragrance oil (or fragrance oil blend)

-Sterilized container with lid

Mix Fragrance oil and carrier oil together in a glass, non-food use dish. Once oils are fully blended, pour mixture into sterilized container.  Store in a cool, dark area for up to 6 weeks.  Recipe can be adjusted for larger quantity batches.  Feel free to blend carrier oils as well as fragrance oils for the glide and aroma you prefer!  Note: For external use only

**Note: I use this recipe frequently when making gifts or blends however, if you already use unscented body oil or lotion and want to try an aroma without using an entire bottle, just put a dollop of oil or lotion on your hand and add 2 drops of your preferred fragrance oil.  Rub together between hands then massage into skin as needed.

3) Vanilla Sugar Scrub

-1 1/4 cup brown or raw sugar

-6-8 Tablespoons refined coconut oil

-15-20 drops Vanilla Fragrance oil (can substitute Gingerbread, Pear,   Banana, or Almond fragrance oil if you do not like vanilla)

-10 drops pure vitamin E oil (optional)

-Sterilized  airtight container

In a non-food use bowl, combine coconut oil, sugar, and vitamin E oil, blending well to eliminate lumps.  Add fragrance oil a few drops at a time, mixing well after each addition.  Place in an airtight container and allow to sit for 24 hours prior to use.  Use within 3 months.

4) All-purpose Cleaner

-1 Tablespoon Borax Powder (found in the laundry aisle of most supermarkets)

-3 Tablespoons white vinegar

-2 cups distilled water

-1 Tablespoon unscented dish soap (castile soap - like Dr. Bronners - works best)

-15-20 drops Fragrance oil

-16oz Spray Bottle

Combine all ingredients into a 16oz spray bottle.  Let sit for 24 hours prior to use.  Shake well before use.

5) Foam Soap

 -Foaming Soap Dispenser

-Liquid Soap (can be unscented dish soap but castile soap works best)

-Hot water

-Fragrance Oil

If using an existing foaming soap dispenser, clean well with alcohol and allow it to fully dry before use.

Fill clean, dry foaming soap dispenser 1/8 full of the liquid soap.  Add 15-25 (depending on size of dispenser) of your preferred fragrance oil.  Slowly add hot water 1 to 1 1/2 inches from the top of the bottle.  Do not fill the bottle completely as the pump top will require room. Stir (don't shake) ingredients thoroughly.  Place foaming top and you're ready to use.

 6) Body/Perfume Spray

 -1/2 Cup Witch Hazel

-1 Cup distilled or purified water

-10-20 drops preferred fragrance oil (or fragrance oil blend)

-10oz or larger spray bottle

Combine all ingredients in bottle and shake well.  Allow formulation to rest 24 hours prior to use.  Shake well before each use and store in a cool, dark area.

**NOTE: You can create a household air freshener the same way, just omit the witch hazel.

7) Scenting Plastic Christmas Trees or Wreaths

Apply several drop of Christmas Wreath fragrance oil to the leaves of your plastic tree or wreath.  Aroma should last several weeks but feel free to refresh as needed.  You can also use the “household air freshener spray recipe” above for easier application.

8) Laundry Detergent

Dislike the aromas of the standard commercially available liquid detergents?  Try making your own custom scents!  Add a few drops of your favorite fragrance oil to existing, unscented laundry detergent (5 drops for every 8oz of liquid detergent).

9) Carpet Freshener

Add 10-20 drops of preferred fragrance oil to a small box of baking soda and mix thoroughly.  Allow ingredients to rest for 1 hour then apply liberally to carpets. Let sit for 1 or more hours then vacuum

10) Trashcan or Car Freshener

Add 5 drops of your favorite fragrance oil to a cotton ball or cotton pad and insert in the bottom of the trash can.  For car, place the cotton ball or pad in the center console or air vent and refresh as needed.  Note:  If using in the air vent, do not allow cotton ball or pad to sink too deeply into the vent so that you cannot retrieve it.  Close the vent on the cotton just enough that it will allow air flow without dislodging the cotton.

 11) Diffusion

You don't need an expensive aroma diffuser to spread the warmth of your favorite fragrance throughout your home; simply add two cups of water and 20 drops of your preferred fragrance oil to an old (non-food use) pot or pan.  Simmer on low, uncovered.  Do not leave unattended.  Do not allow water to burn out completely.

12) Toilet Bowl Freshener

Add 2 or 3 drops to a clean toilet bowl and let sit.  Refresh as needed.  ***Note - avoid this recipe if you have animals who drink from the toilet.

13) Gym Bags, Shoes, Linen Closets...

For quick and easy freshening, use your favorite fragrance oil with unscented dryer sheets!  Add 5 to 10 drops of fragrance oil to the dryer sheet and allow oil to dry completely (2 to 3 hours).  Simply place the sheet in any inconspicuous place you’d like to freshen up!  Works great for gym bags; shoes; linen closets; or couch/chair cushions.

 14) Standard Lightbulbs

Add two drops to any standard, cold lightbulb and let dry for 5 minutes.  The heat from the light will diffuse the oil once the light is turned on!

15)  Container Candles

Has your existing candle lost its aroma?  Want to infuse your favorite scent into an unscented candle?.  While unlit, simply add a few drops of your preferred fragrance directly to the candle wax (near the base of the wick).  Once lit, the candle will throw the aroma of the fragrance oil you added. Note** Never add oil to the candle while it’s lit/burning.
